Behind The Writer
My Story
There's something about a front porch that makes people bare their soul. Maybe it's the way the world softens when the sun starts to go down. I've learned that conversations on a front porch always carry a deeper meaning.
My own front porch is what inspired Front Porch Fiction; Sweet Tea Turns Bitter. It's where stories started to take shape, not just in words, but in moments of silence, everything left unsaid between sentences.
I'm a true southern belle at heart. I grew up in rodeo dust and hay fields, on a farm where life was simple in some ways and complicated in all the others. If I'm being honest, my life has always been a beautiful mess. The kind of mess that doesn't follow the straight and narrow, but tells a story worth hearing.
Maybe that's why I write the way I do. I've always had an imagination that ran wild and a little deep. It's my favorite place to be. My characters and plotlines deserve to be seen and to be heard. Through my stories, I take pieces of those emotions and contradictions and turn them into something that feels intimate at first. Warm, nostalgic, maybe even a little sweet.
But, if you stay long enough, you'll find out something shifting beneath the surface. I write about love that isn't simple, people who are flawed, and moments that change everything without asking permission. My characters carry secrets. My plots take turns you won't see coming.
Front Porch Fiction is my brand and covers everything I do and am. Need a freelance writer for fiction storytelling? I'm your girl. Looking for a fiction storytelling blog with a taste of southern? Sweet Tea Turns Bitter is for you.
So if you're here, pull up a chair. Stay for a while. Just don't expect every ending to feel like home.
